Memory 30

Sieh turning mortal; Naha's womb and leaving Sieh with the Arameri. (significant negative) (ref: KoG 58, 64-70)

Description: The first part of this takes place off screen. After Sieh's experience with Deka and Shahar, Naha and Yeine discover Sieh damaged and turning mortal. This is understandably very upsetting for a number of reasons. It is particularly upsetting to Naha who has no power to stop it—Naha is uniquely powerless against change and processes that progress over time because not only can he not stop them (neither could Yeine in this case), trying to do so is against his nature with all that entails. He does, however, try to fight it and even keeps Sieh within himself for a time to preserve and protect him (Naha's womb is a cold, dark place.)

Eventually, however, Shahar calls Sieh out and Sieh chooses to remain out because he'd rather actually experience his time. During their encounter, Naha explains what Yeine and Naha know of Sieh's mortality at this point. The exchange is pretty painful and uncomfortable, like a lot of Naha's latter memories with Sieh.

Notes:
+Sob. My life.
+This is a very bad and disappointing memory, and interesting in that all of that comes from someone else's experience. Bad things happen to Naha, but they're bad things because they're emotional reactions centered on someone else's experience and caring for them.
+Naha's gonna be so unhappy. But at least knowing what's happening with Sieh will be something.
+This memory does show and, I think, to some degree reinforce Naha's yeilding/passive side. Not to say it will make her more passive in Aather, precisely, but reassuring I'm doing it right.
