In one way, it will confirm that she really can survive without him! +Complicating the matter, there are two versions of this story! Naha will remember both of them and, in all honesty, both are probably equally true while one is a more important metaphor (Naha's regret and attempts to make peace with what he and Tempa did) the other is also pretty valid and true to what he becomes with the Arameri.
+This is a very sad memory—probably one of the saddest memories that's just sad, and not also terrible for reasons of anger and betrayal.
