Telling Sieh stories. (trivial positive) (ref: HTK 206-207)

Description )

Notes:
+This one is translated into a system that would be fairly easy for the human brain to comprehend... sometimes. I am including the implied MANY MANY MANY instances of story telling, so it's fair to say some of this memory is not safe for mortal sharing. However, other parts are pretty readable.
+This is so very relevant to where Sieh is right now.

Speaking with Yeine in her mother's room.(significant neutral) (ref: HTK: 114-121)

Description )

Notes:
+Okay, so that's not completely accurate, but it actually does give you a pretty good sense of the scene.
+This has a pretty good summary of the business with the Three. It's not really new to Naha, but it's synthesized into a very effective summary for Yeine's sake, which will be helpful in Aather.
+Also, it fleshes out Naha's relationship arc with Yeine more.
+Safe-ish for mortal consumption?

Description )

Notes:
+NOT SAFE FOR MORTALS
+This is a really good time to get a positive memory, and particularly this positive memory. It will help Naha get things back together.
+Getting back together is still limited. Naha is still pretty damaged at this point.

The Gods War (significant negative)(ref: HTK 133, 181-182, KoG 245-246)

Description )

Notes:
+NOT SAFE FOR SHARING. Ever. At all. For anyone. Most of it takes place on a non corporeal plane that's not healthy for mortal brains at the best of times, and it is entirely suffused with the crazy. It's pretty clearly stated that Naha and Tempa's fight wasn't something mortal minds could comprehend. Uh. So. Awesome that it's so very sharable, huh? I actually doubt Naha will share it, unless someone really wants to see it, in which case she wouldn't stop them IC.
+Amazing timing, considering that Naha got to relive the sig neg memory that directly precedes this in the game. Sob.
+100 crazy I'm sorry.
+This is interesting! Naha has up until this point primarily associated rage and violence with a male presentation. This changes that in a big way, since it is righteous fury destroying goddess stuff. Context being what it is, this might actually strengthen Naha identifying as female in Aather, but as always I'll kind of roll with that as things come.

The arena. (trivial negative)(ref: THK 258-270)

Description )

Notes:
+So this is a painful one, obviously. It's trivial negative mostly because it's not extraordinary for Naha at the time it happens. It will be pretty extraordinary for Naha in Aather, and the normalcy of it will not actually make it better.
+I am totally a ho and prioritized this so I could link it in heart game. I'm that cool, aw yeah.
+NOT SAFE FOR SHARING. On the scale of mildly mindbending to total insanity, it's not Naha's worst. And it does take place in the mortal realm. But still... not safe for mortal consumption.

The Lady in the Tower I; the first demon is born. (ref: HTK 79-80) trivial positive

Description )

Notes:
+Okay, I'm doing something a little different with this. Naha will remember this story as a story, and understand it as a metaphor for the era it encapsulates, which she will also remember. This is the prelapsarian time of having children with mortals. Naha had many children with mortals, and loved them, and they were strange and beautiful and sometimes horrifying and unhealthy, which was also beautiful.
+Naha knows, at least to a degree, that bad things must come from this. Demon blood, etc etc. But Naha does not remember that part of the story.
+This is one of the last of Naha's positive sex/babies memories... I think... probably.
+Mostly this is mortal realm memories, but there's some crazy in there. Not safe for the average human to take, but not totally brain breaking.

Cosmic sex with Yeine. (ref: HTK 311-320)

Description )

Notes:
-Despite my loving description, this is actually a pretty important scene. I think it drives home the fact that Naha's sexuality in Sky is broken and unhealthy for him as well as others because sex is an important part of how Naha connects with people.
-It's also an important memory because while it's far from fixing Naha, it is a step toward rehabilitation. Naha is able to have sex with Yeine without killing her. All damage done is pretty much the standard type that comes with mortals sleeping with gods.
-Sex aside, it's also an important moment in terms of showing a side of himself which hasn't been safe to express in Sky.
-It is truly amazing how many of Naha's positive memories are of sex or are sexual.
-In terms of Aather effects, this is a memory which brings more of Sky's broken sexuality but also some hope for having actual healthy sex, and while Naha certainly hasn't forgotten hir sexuality in Aather, taking this will probably, probably, probably be another nudge in the direction of seeking out lovers, provided I don't fail at playing that part out.
-On the level of safety for mortal viewers... well, Yeine blocks out the experience until later events bring it back out, and while it's not necessarily insanity inducing in and of itself, I'll say it would be very, very challenging for a mortal mind to wrap around. Probably a lot of it would just be blocked out.

Taking Yeine to Darr. (ref: HTK 187-205) significant neutral

Description )

Notes:
-This memory is pretty cool because it fits together with a couple of other memories Naha has already recovered. This one, in particular. But also this one, speaking of when she stabbed him.
-Yeine herself is still a mystery, and a sort of frustrating, delightful one.
-Flashing some of his old power (and his other forms) is sort of a bittersweet thing, in context of Aather. This is the first time in Naha's memories of presenting (if only briefly) as female in her later, more damaged Sky state. At the same time, it's a reflection of that older power... Still, I think this will put a crack in the way Naha has compartmentalized him and her in Aather. We'll have to see how that develops.

wildnight: (the abyss looks back)
Being trapped in mortal flesh by Shahar I and Itempas. (ref: HTK 23, 265-266, KoG 363-364) significant negative

Description )

Notes:
-This is one of Naha's worst memories, probably in the top three. I thought about lumping it together with the Gods' War in general, but I felt like it had its own emotional impact that deserved to be addressed separately. And also, the whole breakdown of the Three events seem like it's best broken down into bite-sized pieces.
-Hate Tempa. Not that Naha hasn't had a good deal of hate for Tempa before this, but it's been mixed before. This memory is pretty much all pain and betrayal and crazy, and it goes squarely at Tempa's feet. Hate. So much hate.
-On a related Hate note, physical bodies kind of suck. Or at least, there's a pretty overwhelming negative association with them that comes from being violently forced to assume one. For those who didn't read the quoted passages, it was a very brutal experience and both a "physical" and emotional violation.
-Also, an aspect of the forced into a physical body hate—it's sadly not explored much in the text (though it is implied), but subtext and word of god has Nahadoth identifying as female during the Gods' War and a substantial period of time leading up to it. Tempa pretty much decided to male Naha male because he prefers it, and over the two thousand years that followed that Naha came to (or seemed to come to) identify predominantly as male. However, this is an important part of the greater betrayal, I think. I've talked about this on plurk, so I won't belabor it here unless someone really wants to hear more. TL;DR: Naha is going to be hostile to the idea of being male again, at least for a while.
-Naha's frame of reference for pain is insane.
-TOTALLY UNSAFE FOR SHARING. This memory includes stuff human minds were not meant to see, or can't see. It is a brainbreaker. (Naha will probably make Tempa take it.)

Encounter with Yeine in the bathroom. (ref: HTK 223) trivial positive

Description )

Notes:
-...Probably a good thing this isn't a sharable memory.
-Recovering more of the screwed up Sky sexuality, though without the experience that brought it on so it's probably a little hollow; it's less the actual state he was in there, and more the awareness of sex as a viable weapon.
-TOTALLY DID GET A MEMORY OF MOLESTING A GIRL IN HER BATHROOM.
-This is a positive memory, particularly by comparison to what else was going... despite... these things I'm saying. '-'
-O rite I am totally not above quasi-tentacle sex. So there's that.

Memory 08

Watching over feverish Yeine. (ref: HTK 144) trivial negative

Description )

Notes:
-While this is not a super big or interesting memory, I do like it. The timing is pretty amazing coming on the heals of a trauma game like this. Luck is definitely behind Naha being protective/possessive of her team.
-While it's not a memory thing per se, I'm kind of glad to post a memory that references Naha's nature being change, and in particular the fact that Naha has to change. While Naha wasn't there for it, this is relevant to what I've been doing with Naha re: gender/sex. The situation which preceded this (which Naha will never get to remember because he wasn't there) included among other things a depiction of Nahadoth that surprised Yeine in part because while definitely identifiable, it seemed to be ambiguously female. The fact that Naha had been predominately female during the era leading up to the war was among the things that's no longer known among mortals. So this memory ties in, if only tangentially, to that as well.
-It also illustrates what I've been saying about Naha changing to suit other people. It's pretty clear in the context of the novel that he doesn't take a Darre appearance for himself; he takes it for Yeine. Whether not he even does it for Yeine for himself or whether it's mostly involuntary depends a lot on Naha's mental and physical health.
-Reasonably safe on the sharing scale. God senses are god senses, but drastically limited because of imprisonment, and mostly the experience would just be watching a sick girl on and off for a couple of days.

wildnight: (older than stars)
Winter solstice dance. (ref: HTK 345-350) trivial positive

Description )

Notes:
-First off, this memory is like 97% safe as far as Naha memories go. It all happens in the physical world, there's very little crazy or magic. I think that Naha's sensory perspective would be weird for a human, but in the end, it's one of the safe ones.
-There's a lot of talking around the plan for Yeine in this, and the exact situation with Itempas, so the specifics of the situation just aren't there. However, the emotional situation is. There's a lot of feelings here. And especially, Yeine-dere.
-This isn't necessarily an effect of the memory, but it's worth pointing out this is one of the scenes that demonstrates where I'm getting some of Naha's characterization from, especially the teamdere.
-I do think this memory will incline Naha more toward protectiveness. Sorry, Ruby, you somehow got a giant irresponsible, irrational, overprotective parent out of this deal.
- +100 anger at Tempa.
-This is a memory that also somewhat blends together the two personalities that Naha has remembered; at least, there's some aspects of the really ancient, soft memories in the more recent, more dangerous character.

Convincing Enefa to let Sieh live after his birth. (ref: HTK 218) significant neutral

Description )

Notes:
-Because this is a fairly layered memory, it's going to be a bit of a stretch on his sanity, at least at first. It's positive, though, so it probably won't make it (of itself, anyway) a DANGEROUS break.
-More Sieh dere. More Enefa dere, too—a lot of Enefa dere. Why isn't she here. :(a
-And Naha continues to have memories that encourage a pretty distinct split between is backstory personality and his canon personality.
-...That is, if he ever takes them. That makes three he's behind.

Catching Sieh sleeping (just sleeping) with Yeine. (ref: HTK 105)) trivial negative

Description )

Notes:
-Relatively safe, if anyone else wants to take it. Not very productive though.
-This isn't going to make Naha like Sieh less. I think that, in many of these memories, there is a sense of their shared circumstance. However, that doesn't mean there isn't a particular order here. Naha might be a little less willing to let Sieh guide him.
-Naha's going to get a little punch up of territoriality here. His things are his things.
-Once again, Naha is drawn to Yeine in a way he doesn't quite understand.

Putting out the lights for Yeine. (ref: HTK 74-79) trivial neutral

Description )

Notes:
-Itempas is in there, in name only, but it confirms what Sieh's memory showed him, and now he has his own bitterness. Itempas is the one who lets humans command him. He doesn't have the full weight of the treachery, and he won't have all of his anger back. But some of it.
-+200 crankiness at being told what to do, but also willingness to be ...fairish... with people who are polite and don't try to force him.
-He knows he's interested in Yeina, partly in a way he doesn't understand even in the memory. He does, however, know that someone named Kurue wanted to work with her. That clicks with his memory of calling her a pawn—they are using her. That makes her different from the other Arameri.
-He'll be crankier/running more to his dark side for at least a little while after this memory.
-OH, and he knows about being someone else during the day, after taking this. Apparently it's different in Aather... possibly because he's got no god mojo.
-Some god perception here, but on the low end of dangerous if mortals take it.

wildnight: (breathe deep)
"I need to threaten someone." (ref: HTK 236-251) significant neutral

Description )

Notes:
-Clothes are for suckers. Just saying.
-More seriously, this is all from Yeine's POV, so what Naha is feeling or thinking is really a mystery. Some of it comes through, but you'll have to bear with me for headcanoning out what's going on with him.
-Naha likes Yeine, in her way. She's useful, yes, though he's not certain precisely how she's meant to be useful. Maybe they're going to make her the next Arameri head to free them? No, that seems unlikely. Whatever the plan is, he knows he's a slave and a weapon, and that she's the piece (the pawn) that might be able to change that. But he also likes her for herself, for being kind of crazy, and alternately violent and compassionate.
-If Naha likes you, or you are useful to him, he has no problem killing or torturing people for you. It was kind of interesting. But don't expect there not to be a price—Yeine said not to kill anyone, and she had to face how far she was willing to go for that. She chose to kill them. I doubt that was entirely unintentional on Naha's part.
-Sex and violence are linked. Pretty directly. He is, however, willing to ramp that down a little for her, which comes through.
-Still no name.
-Still no idea who Tempa is.
-As Naha's memories go, this one is possibly sharable without too high a risk of going insane, though in the parts I glossed over (like Naha's method of teleportation), there is still some stuff that would bend your average mortal brain in uncomfortable ways.
